Inspired by small spaces

There is a great blog I follow... (www.ohdeedoh.com) that I just love with great modern ideas on how to use the most of your space. I was inspired by this picture. Simon's room is small and therefore has very little space for a bookcase.. and it would be yet another piece of clunky furniture. Here's the picture that inspired my redo:

Here are before and after shots of his room. Enjoy! (I'm pretty proud of myself as I used a level and got these perfect all by myself without my husband looking over my shoulder...)

It's been a really long time since I posted anything and for that, I apologize. I decided this week to get a jump start on my son's 2nd bday party. I know it's months away, but with a new baby coming, I thought 'why not.' Also, it was a fun distration from the hum-drum around here... He's obsessed with Yo Gabba Gabba, so I decided to make mini Muno pillows as favors. I also made the goodie bags. Take a look! I made 8 of everything.

New Loot!!!

Over the weekend I spent some time at town-wide tag sale and got some GREAT stuff. Here is a picture of my stacked up loot. In between the knick knacks are 4 tables. Looking forward to refinishing and doing something with them! The one folded is an antique sewing table made by Paris MFG. co. around 1900's.

My new table!!

I'm THRILLED on how this turned out. I was really skeptical when I started modge podge-ing it. I was actually getting super frustrated. I had some antique music paper and put it to good use. (don't worry.. I already have this piece somewhere else...) So after seeing the paper bubble up everywhere, I left my project for a while because I wasn't sure what to do. But, I waited it out and added several more layers of modge podge and finished it with one layer of a polyurathane for an 'antique' look and VOILA!!! Check out the transformation....

I first painted it 'celery' green from the original white that it was...

I bought this at a yard sale last weekend for $5. I'm still debating what I'm going to do with it.. I bought some light green paint, that I'm toying with.. or.... any suggestions?
