and a little more....

I wanted to stripe the playroom so that it would be different from the main family room area which we chose a chocolate color for. The bathroom tile took tons and tons of planning, but came out beautifully!!! I found a picture online that i just loved and we tweaked and changed the colors. The floor is granite and we ended up using extra mosaic tile to create a line in the floor. I bought the mosaic tile off of ebay from a whole saler and then matched the rest of the room around those.

and some more...

more photos... After much deliberation, we both decided on how to paint the rooms... and at about 8.5 months pregnant with our second baby, I took the roller and several paint brushes and spent many an evening down there painting. Don't worry.. I
used low VOC paints from Duron.

The bathroom was a bear for my husband. It took him lots of sweat and tears to lay out those tiles perfectly. The shower box was an afterthought and took a lot of thought on my husband's part. Follow the tile all the way through? Or not. The end result was amazing.

More basement Info

I'm still figuring out how to post photos and write underneath them... the previous photos are of the framing and how the rooms were divided. It took my husband about 1.5 yr or so on and off to frame the entire thing. He also did all the electrical wiring of all the rooms. We did hire out the drywalling and the insulation.. but other than that this was truly a DIY project!! My husband is truly an expert!

Basement

When we bought our house... way back in the day... it had an unfinished basement. I never really envisioned us finishing it. I thought it would probably stay that way for a long time. Well... that didn't last long. My diy soul mate sketched out a plan for a family room, playroom, full bathroom and media room. Here is a pictorial view of our 2 yr journey....
