A glowing side table

New day...new project...
Chris worked on this project for several weeks.  He found this idea on the instructables site....  A Pecky cypress table that glows in the dark!  We adapted it a bit to suit our needs and made it a sofa table with industrial pipe legs.  Basically morphed two ideas into one.    Since it wasn't my project I don't have a lot of 'in progress' shots.

The wood was ordered from the tidewater region of VA since this type of wood is not native to this area.  It is abundant in Florida though!  I shipped two pieces and he put them together with a biscuit joiner.
Then he mixed a casting resin you can buy at any craft store with a glow powder.  We picked blue!  Here are some pics after the resin was poured into the holes that the wood came with.  Then came the sanding...
And here is the table after 2-3 hours of sanding with different grits...

After several coats of a clear stain:

And some pics of the pipe legs after they were screwed together and then sprayed black.

And the final
Product!

And here is the glow....

Family room redo

Here is our before and after family room redecorating project.  Wood paneled wall, newly painted grey walls throughout and into the kitchen, painted fireplace and all ceilings newly painted.  Enjoy!

BEFORE:
And here was the process.  Shout out to Chris who worked like a dog putting up the wall.
Chalk lines to mark the studs.
Here is how our tv is hooked up.  This was chris' brainchild to wire through the attic.
I painted basic pine planks from lowes 5 different stain colors.
Started with onyx.
Here are the colors. Onyx, latte, grey, mahogany, walnut.

First couple rows..
A little more...

A couple hours later...

And done!
Next the ceiling and the fireplace were painted and ta-day!

And here's the final result:

Circles crochet throw

Took a loooong while...  One square at a time, here and there, when I had a free moment...But this take on the granny square throw is so fun.  Borrowed the pattern from:

I changed her colors to match my living room.  I love her colors too though!  81 squares later....  Ta-dah!!!

Here are some in process and final pics.
